Easter Message 2013

 The Salvation of Humanity:
Living with Purpose as Connecting the Head with the Heart
by Jojopahmaria Nsoroma

What does it mean to know your purpose?
What does it mean to have a purpose and to live with that purpose?
What does it mean to live in a meaningful way?

Knowing and having purpose is more than you knowing and performing the job that you love,
or that you've discovered your right livelihood;
for when you live purposefully there will be many jobs to perform.

Knowing and having purpose is more than the leadership roles you play in family, at work, out in the community or the world;
for when you live purposefully there will be a myriad of leadership opportunities and roles that you will experience.

Knowing and having purpose is more than finding your true Beloved, and achieving spiritual partnership;
for living purposefully is allowing that sacred relationship to touch the lives of others in unselfish and selfless ways.

Knowing and having purpose is more than your ability to discipline yourself to follow and practice a particular spiritual path, or religious set of teachings;
for living purposefully requires that you honor and respect

the diversity of Faith.

The essence of 'purpose' is our human ability to connect our head with our hearts, and to live wholeheartedly -- embracing vulnerability and choosing love over fear.  To live each day from the center of your heart is what true purpose is all about.  To be on purpose, you must be heart-centered in your work, your relationships, and your spiritual practices.

History tells us of the horror that erupts from humans having their hearts shut down.  Most recently, the results of building a nuclear power plant in an earthquake zone has clearly demonstrated that modernity is full of intellectually brilliant -- yet heartless human beings.  Especially for humans participating in Western culture, having our heads disconnected from our hearts
may produce material wealth and comfort, but it requires us to believe
that other humans, certain humans, and anything in Nature, is at our disposal.

We struggle greatly to have reverence for life, and are plagued by chronic diseases because life can have no reverence for us.

So how do we become heart-centered in our work, relationships, and spiritual practices?
How do we connect our heads to our hearts?

We have to first make three commitments -- or as it says in the fairytales --

we have to make three wishes:
  1. I wish to be able to feel my pain so I can feel my joy.  I commit to no longer running from my pain through sedation, neurosis, or drama-making.
  2. I wish to be released from my core wound so I can find the treasure it has made for me.  I commit to no longer playing the victim to my life.
  3. I wish to know God as my divinity within and as the key to my wholehearted lifestyle.  I commit to learning how to love my Self at a deepr level each day, and to share that love with others.
Ashe!  Asho!

The 2013 Message for Groundhog Season!

Groundhog with Attitude!
According to the "Animal Speak" dictionary by Ted Andrews, the groundhog (aka woodchuck) as a totem means "mystery of death without dying--trance--dreams."  Groundhogs do true hibernation that last between four to six months, in which they achieve a state of unconsciousness until awakening in late winter/early spring.  This is why they symbolize 'death without dying.'
So today, February 2nd, 2013, is truly significant as we focus our attention on the prophetic Groundhog in Punxsutawney, PA, who did not see his shadow, and let us know that we will have an early Spring.  In the meantime, we have 6 more weeks of Winter.  I believe that the Groundhog as a totem, and the movie, "Groundhog Day," have some pretty clear advice for us on how best to use this significant and important time wisely and effectively.

1) Embrace the Dream-time:  Hibernation is a time of initiation. It is a time for unimaginable healing and growth. It is a time for us to allow our dreams --both nighttime and waking, to bring up and into our consciousness more of our truth and divine purpose.  Don't resist the call to rest & sleep.  Even if it is only 6pm or earlier.  Even if you feel to stay in bed all day long. You are not being lazy.  Allow your body to shut down so your soul can go walking into other dimensions to learn and bring back new & needed knowledge.  We are living in a post-2012 existence, and it is essential that we move forward into the new and unknown.  Getting horizontal may be the only medicine needed for any of your worries and concerns.

2) Release the Past by Learning Somethings New: In the movie, "Groundhog Day," our anti-hero Phil, goes through a "celebrity death-match" with God, attempting every form of suicide he can think of, before surrendering to his Divinity Within.  And once the pure Love of the Universe touches his heart, in the form of Rita believing in his Divinity Within, he realizes that he has to first learn to love himself.  To do that, he begins to improve himself through learning new skills, like playing piano, and thinking about others rather than just himself.  Over the next 6 weeks, take on learning something new.  What is it you always wanted to learn about or do but never have taken the time to just do it?  Begin with a small step and let it naturally grow.  Of course I recommend watching the movie to help inspire you.  I watch it every year on Groundhog Day, to remind myself that the way to continue transcending my core wounds is to risk doing something new.  Go for it!

3) Go Deep and Stay Deep:  As I discussed in my previous blog, part one of my annual New Year's message (part 2 coming out this week), deep and simple is more powerful than shallow and complex.  It's time to put this wisdom from Mr. Rogers into full throttle.  If you aren't sure what "deep" is for you, start by asking the Ancestors, Angels or Spirit Guides to help you become conscious about when you are being shallow.  Take on self-mastery of your shallow & complex lifestyle.  Learn what is looks like, feels like and taste like.  Once you become familiar with it -- where you are when it happens most, who's around you when it happens most, and what you feel when it's happening-- you will be ready, willing and able to experience your depth.  Remember, life is DEEP (contains emotions) and the truth is SIMPLE.  Thanks to Henry Ford and other turn-of-the-century Titans, we got conditioned to believe that mechanized labor and institutions, the destroyers of emotional intelligence, would solve all of our financial problems and therefore we'd be happy and healthy.  NOT!

To know true love, you must go Deep, you must experience all of your emotions, and allow this Simple truth to oust your fears:  You are divinely and unconditionally loved by God, the Universe, and All That Is.
HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!
